I had a shingles shot about 2-3 years ago.  This past week I discovered a large area under my left breast that, at first, looked like bites.  In a couple of days, that area is  now red and ugly and I have the worst pain in that area; it kept me up all  night.  I didn't think it was possible to get shingles after a shingles shot.  I wonder if anyone else got shingles after getting the shingle shot.

Welcome to the Forums, dandee.

Did your physician diagnose it as shingles?

The shingles vaccine is only 55% effective so it is possible to get shingles after getting the vaccine.

If you have shingles you will be glad you got the vaccine!  It helps prevent the complications, like chronic nerve pain that so many have.  Lynne, NP
