I am headed over to Life Extension store today, and I've been having issues with memory and "brain fog" at work. I was reading about both SAMe and Cognitex, and both are rather pricey. Which one would be preferable given my age and symptoms? I don't want to start using both. Any advice appreciated!

My suggestion is to try Cognitex first.  See http://www.lef.org/protocols/neurological/alzheimers_disease_01.htm for more suggestions.  Exercise is also important.

I picked up my 2 bottles of Cognitex.  I'm going to start off with 3 in the morning to assess tolerance, and after 60 days I should notice a difference I would think.

Thanks!

Doc,

please let me know how it works, I too have the same problem.  I am  a 48 female and am having those issues.  I had my hormons checked and I am low on Estrodiol, Testosterone and DHEA so I am not sure if that would be part of my problem.  I am going to see a Dr about getting on BHRT but I have to have a mammogram first before anyone will perscribe them.

We'll do.  I took 3 softgels today in the morning, and I have to say, I felt a little more clarity mentally in the 2nd part of my day.  it could be because I slept a little better.  A few months ago, I was tired and dragging, so I had labs done and while my overall test was good, my free test was low, so I got on TRT.  TRT is supposed to improve memory and mental clarity, so I hope with everything together, my mind will regain its sharpness.

It has been a week now on 3 tablets a day of Cognitex with Pregnenelone.  I have to say, I have noticed a difference.  Each day, I have been cranking at work.....sometimes I am sleepy, but my mind is still sharp from about an hour after I take them up until the end of the day.  This is after about 7 full days on them.  Some people take 6 per day, but I don't want to get crazy with pill taking, and I want a bottle to last 30 days because they are pricey.

Cognitex Basics http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item01421/Cognitex-Basics.html is an affordable option that can be added to Cognitex or used alone.

Hello Doc,

Hope you are improving rapidly with the cognitex.

Just an aside: some people respond very well with just one extra capsule a day. Give it a try.

Regards, Robert.
