Hey all,

I've been diagnosed with silent reflux and would prefer not to take Prilosec, especially long-term.

Has anyone else had experience with silent reflux or have any general advice?

Thanks!

Many people find their GERD goes away with the loss of 10 percent or more of their body weight.  This would not be an appropriate therapy for someone who was underweight.

Also, see http://www.lef.org/protocols/gastrointestinal/gastroesophageal_reflux_01.htm

Although I don't have reflux and don't use the product, I've heard and read some good things about orange peel extract (d-limonene)

I used EsophaGuard several years ago and believe it helped get rid of my reflux.

My spouse was helped by D-limonene (EsophaGuard) and DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice). I would recommend a 3-week course of one or both, then see how you're doing. I think my spouse did two rounds of D-limonene, then one of DGL. She hasn't needed anything since. Maybe the DGL helped more? Now she chews 2 tablets of the DGL before she eats anything she anything acidic: citrus, spicy goods, etc.

Acid is required by your digestive tract, so it's great if you can find help that builds up the membranes so your acid doesn't harm you.

Good luck,
Elaine
