Check out this dramatic example that demonstrates how the skin is affected by the sun, long-term. . .

My father, as a bus driver had his left arm similarly affected from years of sun exposure on one side only.

My left elbow has been sun-damaged for 20+ years. Since I started taking a lot of supplements, it's become itchy and bumpy.

Cortisone helps with the itching, but I don't want to keep using it. I've got two good anti-itch lotions (Derma e Itch Relief, Allegra Intensive Relief Anti-itch), but is there something I can apply that will help it heal? I tried vitamin C cream, but that didn't do much.

Thank you!
Elaine

Just a comment: I notice it is your left elbow that has this sun damaged skin. That is the body part often stuck out the window when driving a car and or most exposed to sunlight through the driver`s side window while driving. Therefore wearing a long sleathed shirt when driving might help.   ...Oscar

PS: I just noticed the previous poster " fastingly " had a similar comment about this.

I recommend 2 grams of MSM taken per day (in divided doses) for skin health.  Also you should put on SPF 50 suntan lotion (mixed with water) all over your body after you get up, each morning.  I use Neutrogena Healthy Defense.

My naturopath and I think it's eczema because it's on the joint. I'm taking MSM (3000 mg), EFAs (600 mg GLA) and the itch persists. My doctor believes the trigger is internal, so she recommends treatment for low stomach acid, which I haven't had a chance to try yet.

In the meantime, ShiKai Borage Therapy Advanced Formula seems to calm it down a bit. Maybe it's the roobios extract.

Thanks, everyone.
