Hi,

Brisk Walking is one of the exercise to reduce heart attack chances. When you do jogging or brisk walk the blood circulation increases and your heart works in a healthy manner.

Regular exercise has always been known to help reduce rates of CVD, improve general health, etc. Are you saying "brisk walking" has been shown to be superior to other forms of exercise?

A brisk walk four or five times a week may even have more benefits if you're experiencing early symptoms of insulin resistance. It could prevent the onset of diabetes later in life. I always preferred walking or riding a bike to any other exercise.

Yes I do this 3-4 times per week and included some stationary biking. I arrived to the point of not feeling good when not doing it. Highly recommended. Walking is for me also a form of meditation.

Wow Jonathan, I love the quote! Wish more people lived like that. How in the world I lived to my late 30s before I realized that, I still haven't figured that out.

I walk regularly now too. I try to go a little longer, a little faster but with more attention on steady every night or every other night. I'm the new forum member with CHF- congestive heart failure. I can't say what the walking does or doesn't do, but being out late at night, in the cooler air, does something good for the soul, doesn't it? Having that chance to tap into a little silent time. That's gotta be good for something.

:-D
