I'm a 55 year old woman. I spent most of my 40s on SSRIs until I had no libido (even while using testosterone cream). On SSRIs it took me a very long time to reach orgasm, but it felt good when I got there. Ginkgo biloba helped make it a little easier to orgasm. About 6 years ago I went off SSRIs and started estrogen and progsterone. Dropping SSRIs gave me slight occaisonal libido, but my orgasms immediately changed. Instead of struggling to have one, I orgasmed way too quickly with little pleasure before and during orgasm.

3 months ago I started DHEA and gained a little libido. My DHEA is probably still too low, but I hope to get it in line in the next 3 months. Pre-orgasm is better now and feels good, but orgasms are still duds... more "okay, we're done now" than fun.

According to Eric Braverman, orgasm is related to  GABA and sexual "resolution" is related to serotonin. I take lots of supplements designed to boost both: B6, B1, niacinamide, tryptophan, A-L-carnitine, fish oil, inositol, magnesium. I'm not overweight and don't have diabetes. I'm not aware of any vascular problems.

Any other suggestions? Other women with the same issue?

Thanks,
Elaine

Niacin rather than niacinamide would be ideal.  Histidine may also help.

I take regular GABA powder under the tongue at bedtime only. It looks like PharmaGABA is just a different manufacturing process that shouldn't affect the ultimate result.

Thanks,
Elaine

Where do you get this?  I read of a study where a child with autism became warm and loving to his parents after taking this.  After the study, none of the participants had this available to them.  Am I missing a joke?

I was wondering where Jim C would buy oxytocin?
