Yes they do, which of course includes grapefruit juice. This information came as a complete surprise to me. I like grapefruit juice and always considered it a healthy choice in beverages and it is if you are NOT taking medications and certain herbs and such. Statins such as LIPITOR can react in such a way as to cause death. The list is so very long I will post a link here about some of the effected drugshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grapefruit_drug_interactions#Affected_drugs

To read the entire article go here:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grapefruit_drug_interactions

I met a guy today at a store I visit regularily. I had been discussing this with the store clerk and a guy in line behind me said he almost died from a reaction he experienced while on some statin drug for high blood pressure and drinking some grapefruit juice. That convinced me I should tell the LEF forum about this very serious topic. It seems most doctors do NOT know about this. Well, I hope this information helps some people.   ...Oscar

And that list of drugs with adverse and sometimes fatal results from drinking grapefruit juice while taking these drugs is growing. Please do take notice that: These at times fatal reactions occur long after the medication was taken.  These reports mean you do NOT have to mix the grapefruit juice with those many medications for these reactions to occur. You simply have to be taking said medications and drink grapefruit juice. Sound off the wall to you ? Read this report:

Well, that is the third or forth link I tried to create and none of them work. You can google it yourself if you are interested or concerned.   ...Oscar
