Hello LEF Team,

my name is Michael and I come from Germany. I am new in this forum. Thanks for your great products! I am really very happy with them.

I have a question regarding the sodium selenite in the LEF Mix.

Here in Germany it is recommended for mono supplements or drugs with sodium selenite that you should not take them with vitamin c, zinc or copper, but one hour before. It is claimed that it could interact in a manner such that the selenium becomes useless. For this reason, popular German multi vitamins do not contain sodium seleNITE, but sodium seleNATE which is claimed that it will not combine with minerals and not react with vitamin C.

What is your opinion about this?

Best regards

Michael

Welcome to the Forums, Michael.

According to Life Extension's Advisor Department:

There is a plethora of researchdemonstrating the beneficial effects of sodium selenite on overall health, specifically promoting healthy cell function.

That really didn't answer the question. He wasn't questioning the beneficial effects of sodium selenite, but about whether certain combinations of nutrients when taken at the same time as sodium selenite would negate some of the benefits.

The evidence is conflicting in that regard.  The advisor consulted said that there were enough other nutrients in the product to protect against a reaction.
