Thank goodness, Tom, you do get some protein from your free-range chicken--I was getting worried....

Protein is just amino acids. The old theory that all essential amino acids had to be eaten together at the same meal in order to make a 'complete' protein is false.  The other idea that one has to eat flesh foods to get a complete protein is also false.  If you break it down that sample menu has more than enough amino acids without the chicken.

Also ... I don't eat meat every day, as I've become very attuned to my nutritional needs.

Enhanced Life Extension Whey Protein provides 20 grams protein at $0.88 per serving if one purchases four bottles at member price.  See http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item01644/Enhanced-Life-Extension-Protein-Natural.html  It's a good protein source for those who think they aren't getting enough and can be stored for a long time at room temperature.

Good point DDye... And to that point I will add one of my favorite recipes:

Almost Fat-Free Protein Pudding:

2-3 Tbs of Organic Cocoa Powder
2 Scoops of whey protein powder
Pacific Natural Foods, Oat Milk
2 tbsp Organic Honey
1 dash of stevia
1 dash of sea salt

Mix dry ingredients in a small bowl
Slowly add oat milk until consistency is like thick pudding
add honey
taste and adjust sweetness with more honey if needed.
mix completely

Enjoy!

Unfortunately, the Whey Protein product contains soy--so it's useless for anyone who needs to avoid soy.  I recommend Oscar Mayer Carving Board Oven Roasted Turkey Breast.  Per serving, this has 12 g of protein and only 1 g of fat.

Does LEF plan to bring back the 2.2lb Enhanced protein?  Or  maybe it is there and I can't find it?

I see only the 1lb size now.

thanks

Not to my knowledge, but you can get Designer Whey Protein in a 2 lb container http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item18044/Designer-Whey-Protein.html

here is a trick to buy yogurt at half price .. Check the expiration date, then go back to the store when there's 1-2 weeks left. They mark it down 1/2 off to sell it quick.  example.. Fage, fat-free, Greek yogurt, which has twice the protein content as non-Greek, $4 dollars, down from $8, when expiration date is near end.
-Tom

P.S. Fits nicely into a healthy Mediterranean diet! Wink

Trying to find a salad dressing or raw vegetable dip these days that doesn't contain white sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavors, preservatives, oil (which can spoil very easily), thickeners, among other junk, is very hard to do. Plus they're expensive. So I make my own. Here is one of my favorites:

Tom's Natural, Low-Fat, Yogurt-Blue-Cheese, Dressing/Veggie Dip

1 cup fat-free plain yogurt (Greek style or regular depending upon how thick you want it)
3/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
!00% pure maple syrup
garlic powder
onion powder

In a bowl combine the yogurt and blue cheese. Slowly drizzle in the maple syrup, stirring well, and tasting often. Stop when tartness of the yogurt to the sweetness of the maple syrup is to your liking. I like mine where the tartness just slightly comes through above the sweetness. Add a dash of garlic powder and onion powder and adjust to your taste. I like mine to have a slight more onion flavor. Mix well and enjoy!
