Does anyone else use astaxanthin as an internal sunscreen? I live in California, take 12 mg a day, and my skin never gets even pink.  I got tired of slathering tablespoons of cream into my skin every day.  No increase in wrinkles, and I've been following this practice for four years.

I also take astaxanthin at 12mg.  Its properties are highly promising.  Vitamin C is something I also take and recommend.

Regards topical substances some of the before and after photos of creams using glycanactif have been some of the most dramatic changes I've seen.   Though I've not tried nor know anyone who's tried it personally.

Hi DDye,

Just a vote for 10 - 15 min of direct sun near 12:30 pm during AriZona's Spring & Fall, with adequate sunscreen beyond those amounts of time and intensities (e.g. Summer!).

Beyond this, I have no experiences of other interventions, beyond soap and a comprehensive, light scrub once/day.

A poll can be posted by the moderators.  If you have an idea for one, let me know.

One idea is testing also your free fatty acid profile. E.g. I found myself deficient in GLA and DGLA and going to supplement with GLA prior to testing again. GLA is important for skin health too.
