Albedo, agree that immunotherapy may be the answer.  The book, The Transformed Cell is most enlightening.  Highly recommend it.

Albedo,
Thanks for the reply and info on MCP. I will look into that. With cancer, you have to hit it with different angles. I've read about the cells ability to clump or stick to other cells, preventing this may help. Regarding Chemo: The doctors feel my mom isn't strong enough for radiation or chemo. Both her primary care and oncologist agree they are nothing short of poisons. You risk increasing life shortly for a poor quality of life, so one has to consider if it is really worth it in the long run.

Once again Dye, thanks for the book reference again. I will look into it.

I took my mom to her primary care doctor. Myself and doc feel strongly that immunotherapy holds the most promise in cancer cure, and together we are going to see if there are any clinical trials.  The kind that I described before.

The issue with qualifying for a trial is the health status of the patient. They have to be strong enough or in fairly good shape to participate, and many are very strict. They don't want to harm the patient in normal routine. My mom is very fatigued, so qualifying might be hard.

One other point I wanted to mention. Over the years, I've seen so many supplement companies coming up with new products for the immune system. I would always wonder what the big fuss is, and why such a big deal about the immune system. You get a cold, you get over it. big deal.  I'm learning more and more how important it is to maintain a healthy immune system not only during times of illness but during times when we have no symptoms. Our immune system holds the key to our survival and its importance can not be overstated.

-Tom.

There is a balance to be sought, which is why many of us don't consume immunoenhancers on a regular basis.

This http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/news/story/index.cfm?id=3513 is not about lung cancer but relevant to immunotherapy.

Thanks for the continued information.

In that link she states...

"Increasing vitamin D levels is known to wake up cells and trigger an immune response whenever infection or inflammation is present."

Part of my mom's care is that I make sure she is in the sun at least once a day for no less than 15 min.  When done, she always says how wonderful the sun felt.  Sunshine is even more critical when the body is diseased. Part of her blood work (phlebotomy this week) is to test for vitamin D.

Dear Tom, So very sorry to learn of your mother`s cancer. I am not sure if you are aware of Dr. Denham Harman`s early research regarding the use of BHT [ butylated hydroxytoluene ] as a treatment for radiation damage and the amazing results achieved with extending the average lifespan of cancer prone mice or not. With cancer prone strains of mice the average lifespan of these mice was increased by between 45% and 50%. That does seem worth considering.
You can read about that here:   http://www.lef.org/anti-aging/chap2.html

There are some other compounds discussed also.   ...Oscar

I did many hours of research on this one, and came up with great info:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17007887

My mom is on the protocol of 5.4g daily and we are using the Lifeshields Reishi Brand.

If you read the Trial study as above it is astonishing.

Thanks
