I saw that life extension recommends 20mg PQQ per day (with or without food) and 300mg CoQ10 per day (with food).

I tend to take my PQQ in the AM on an empty stomach (in Mitochondrial Energy Optimizer), but is it actually better to take PQQ with CoQ10 and food?

Also, does the 300mg CoQ10 refer to regular CoQ10.  Could I take less ubiquinol since it is more bioavailable?

Here http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Top10/Coenzyme-Q10.htm up to 200 milligrams ubiquinol is suggested.  In my opinion, this is adequate for most people.

Am not aware that it is better to consume PQQ with food, however, some people in the field think that most supplements are better digested and absorbed when consumed along with food.

That page states, "Published studies show that 20 mg of PQQ plus 300 mg of CoQ10 may reverse age-related cognitive decline in aging humans."

Yes it says that about PQQ, also "These effects were significantly amplified when the subjects also took 300 mg per day of CoQ10."

Good article.

I was wondering if there is a "Basics" formula that includes these two ingredients in the researched proportions.

I'm becoming a fan of the "Basics" after dabbling on the "fringe". Keeping up with "fringe" is time consuming and costly. the "Basics" seem to be a good way to apply fairly well researched elements at a lower cost. Then if I have/had the extra time I could look into "decorating" my personal protocol.

There is no formula yet carried by Life Extension that contains this proportion that was tested for cognitive decline.
