I will discuss Metformin with my doctor. Anyone there tried Salsalate?

Not enough research for me, and NSAID 's have too many side effects.
Unfortunately your doctor is probably not familiar with Metformin's anti cancer, AMPK
activation, CR mimetic and possible longevity studies.   Prescribing it for non diabetics would be an off label use.
Fortunately I see a an integrated internal medicine doctor who did read the research and prescribed it for me.
It is available online from a reputable British anti aging company.

I could not get a prescription with my doctor (risk of hypoglycemia) but still considering a try.

To the experts out there:

1. I will be traveling to US next month. Is there a chance to find a doctor prescribing it?
2. Is there a kind of "prevention" dose? Lowering risks?
3. My fasting glucose is marginal high and would like to see how I react to a lower dose?

Otherwise I wish to start a protocol of supplementation.
