I started on the Leslie Sansone 4 mile challenge DVD mid-January and lost a lot of body fat.  I did it 5 days a week (took about 1 hr.).  It is a very good DVD because it uses more than your legs.  It was quite brisk.  I enjoy exercising to this DVD.  I have noticed my abdominal fat decrease considerably.  I actually look forward to doing this DVD.  I'm 63, female, petite frame.  Staying fit and healthy is very important to me.  Life is short and I like indulging in ping pong (vigerously), golf and other active sports.

I'd like to hear from others my age telling me about their exercise routine.

Thanks!

Lil

Hi Lil, walking, riding a bike, running, those are the kinds of exercises that I've always enjoyed more than anything and they seem to keep me in shape well enough to maintain stamina. Riding bikes is like an aerobic workout that can stimulate stem cells to the heart and keep it healthy.

I recommend water fitness classes.  You can make the exercises as intense as you like or light as you want, but at the same time, it's significantly less impact on your joints.  Also, 30 minutes of water walking is the same as 2 hours of walking on land for amount of calories burned.  Try it.

I wear a pedometer and monitor it. My life is extremely busy and walking seems to fit right in. My goal is to get at least 10000 steps per day. If not, time to take the dog for another walk.Smile

Hi - I enjoyed reading your post on Life Extension Forum.  If you could be so kind, I was wondering how long it took you to get in 10,000 steps and how many miles would this be for that many steps.  Have you been working out very long?  Thanks- Rick

I'm only 83 and shooting for 100+, no body fat to get rid of, because I eat only every other day.  I get a couple of hours of exercise every day by going up and down a flight of stairs 40 times, twice a day, morning and night.  I also bounce around a bar for 1/2 hour twice a day.  I use a lot of dietary substances to keep healthy.
