Hello,

I had ascending colon and 42 cm of ileum removed for what was reclassified as appendix cancer from cecum after post-surgery analysis.  No cancer was found in lymph nodes (53 inspected) and the cancer did not breach outside GI wall though it had set up blood vessel network and was classified as aggressive.   Based on OncoType test I declined chemo since the benefit did not out way the risk.  The one big problem is much rumbling in GI on and off and crinkly finger pads on and off and mostly soft stools.  My Dr said crinkly finger pad is dehydration but I don't think it is that simple as the fingers can change to normal even if I don't drink fluids.  My surgery was 2/19/14.  I am thinking a therapeutic fast of 3-4 days might be beneficial for me at this point.  Thoughts?

Regards,
Dan

I water fasted for 3.5 days when I found out I had cancer.  At 3.5 days my fasting BG went to 65.  I then ate ketogenic and adjusted to 80% fat, 15% protein, 5% carb to stay 65 fBG.  If my carb went over 5%, my fBG would spike.   I also had to keep total calories <=700 to prevent fBG spike.  19 days later I had my surgery and was out of hospital in 47 hours.   I lost 20 lbs too.   I followed LEF protocols and Dr Thomas Seyfried protocols to achieve outstanding results.  The doctors and nurses were amazed by my fast recovery.   I tell everyone I meet about LEF when the conversation touches on health.
