Looking for the best probiotic formula with the most strains, and billion units, and best delivery method to withstand stomach acid. So far I found one with 14 strains and 80 billion units.

Any suggestions?

-Tom

I've been using one from Renew Life with 30 billion units and 10 strains. Here is one from Renew Life with 200 billion units and 10 strains...

http://www.iherb.com/Renew-Life-Ultimate-Flora-Super-Critical-200-Billion-Maximum-Support-Probiotic-7-Packets-0-8-oz-23-1-g/22253

You only get 7 packets though, as the bacterial counts go up so does the cost. I would like to find the most cost effective probiotic myself, with the best cost benefit ratio.

Renew Life also has one with 50 billion units, 10 strains, and you get 30 servings...

Here is the probiotics section and iherb...

http://www.iherb.com/probiotics-acidophilus

Jarrow makes one that is popular but I have not tried it.

I think probiotics are a worthwhile supplement, but they are just so expensive.

Here is one from swanson that seems like one of the more reasonably priced products...

Theralac is supposed  to be a good one...

Here is a probiotic calles vls3 that I think you need a prescription for...

Hope this helps a little Tom, I'm thinking of trying jarrow product since  you get a  Months supply for about 20 bucks. I have also heard people recommend "Good Belly" probiotic drinks.

There are so many...

I am using 1 every second day (to contain cost) of Jarrow (the new power formula: http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item01759/Jarro-Dophilus-EPS.html as I can get it also via LEF) and i am happy with it. If I really want to try something more powerful and/or I really have a problem I would go with Teralac.

And now we also have FlorAssist from LEF: http://www.lef.org/Vitamins-Supplements/Item01806/FlorAssist.html

I also wonder if you have a comment on Garden of Life's one you can also buy at WholeFoods: http://www.gardenoflife.com/Products-for-Life/RAW-Digestion/RAW-Probiotics-Men-50-Wiser.aspx.

http://www.biocare.co.uk/default.aspx?GroupGuid=1052    This is one of the most reputablecompanies in the UK.

Theproduct  Replete Intensive 7 ProbioticSachets  is excellent for repopulatingthe gut after a course of antibiotics. This is one packet a day for 7 days.

Isee BioCare have a new 7 capsule course as well.

Anyof their products will be exceptional quality.

+++++++++++++++++

John2004,I would suggest that the '7' is used only to reinoculate, a weeks course - notto be used on an on going basis. Choose a bottle that has 30/60/90. ie onea day for 30 days etc. for continuous use.
