OK, guess its stupid question time.  Many supplements say to "take with a meal."  Just wonder if it makes a difference as to the exact timing.  Would it make any difference between say, taking it just before you eat -- I know enzymes you should do that -- or waiting til just after you're finished . . . or perhaps in the middle?

It depends upon the nutrient one is taking. If it's fat soluble and taking with a meal is advised, a minute before the meal won't make a difference, since the nutrient will be digested with the fat. If it is something that might irritate an empty stomach, like zinc or copper, it would be better to have food in the stomach first.

It definitely makes a difference, depending on what you take.  I would also say that sometimes it matters what food you take the supplement with.  Also, different supplements are absorbed in different ways I believe.  It also matters what time of day you take some supplements I think.  Personally, I like to keep it simple and try and take on an empty stomach otherwise I am guessing that there will be some variation as to the effectiveness of my particular supplement.
