There any many alcohols. The desired one is ethanol. You are absolutely WRONG to say ALL alcohols are derived from grains.

Examples:

1. wine from grapes
2. vodka from potatoes
3. Apple jack from apples

I don`t like sweet stuff. In my opinion vodka from potatoes is the healthiest of the ethanols. Many of the other alcohols are toxic, such as methanol. Or propanol. Those prefixes are a count of the carbons in the chain. Methyl = 1 carbon, Ethyl = 2 carbons and Propyl = 3 carbons. Butyl = 4 carbons and onward through the methane series. This stuff is all easy to learn. The suffix ol indicates an O-H or hydroxy group is the end group as opposed to the usual methyl group.
So you are wrong about all alcohols being derived from grains. Drink potato derived vodka or some wine if you wish to drink non-grain derived ethanol.   ...Oscar

Phytic acid isn't all bad, in fact it has been shown to have all sorts of positive benefits on the body, it's in our cells, Diets with phytic acid are often highly beneficial, people live long lives even with diets high in phytic acid. The problem with IP6 arises primarily with diets having sufficient minerals already, and phytic acid can aggravate mineral absorption, but this concern has been largely overblown.

Phytic acid, also called IP6 and has shown some potential in possibly preventing cancer and even as a therapy to improve the effectiveness of medical cancer treatments.

I very much agree with fastingly. I do NOT consider grain derived ethanol necessarily bad. I drink the best quality beers. That cheap crap is toxic. Who knows what it contains. It tastes toxic and gives you hangovers. If you are going to drink, pay the cost of the good stuff.
For me, good quality beer, ale, and vodka seem best. I do not drink wines so know little about them. I avoid whiskey, wine, and the rest because they give me hangovers.   ...Oscar

More on the subject of drinking:

I did not learn until in my 40s the difference between drinking the right stuff and the wrong stuff. I assumed a hangover was inevitable if you drank. In my opinion: good quality vodka is the best. I never get a hangover if I stick with that, Many Russians think it is good for you. I won`t go that far. I mix the vodka with some sour mix such as lemon juice and soda water. Many Russians drink it straight which is to me far too strong and burns my throat going down. So, if you are going to drink, drink quality stuff.
Many if not most people are living with old pains locked inside themselves. And drinking offers some temporary relief. Those who have little such pain often do not understand why people seek such relief however momentary it is.   ...Oscar
