Hi
wondering if..
the folate in two per day is OK if you have high homocysteine (11) and are heterozygous for MTHFR C6777T (with family history of heart attacks)?
or should one organise to have the methylated folate only.

Good question. Clear answers may be unknown today.

I have a similar health situation. I try not to buy products with folic acid, just in case, but focus on bringing down my homocysteine blood levels.
If you make improvements to your methylation regimen and don't see progress, then eliminating the less-desirable forms might help.

The H-Factor Solution, James Braly, 2009, has some good info, including protocol ranges for different blood levels. It surprised me to learn that high doses of niacin can boost homocysteine and should be balanced with TMG.

Good luck,
Elaine

The folate in Two-Per-Day is derived from lemon peel and is the same as which occurs in vegetables and other foods.  For example, a cup of black eyed peas or lentils has almost as much folate as what is contained in the daily dose of Two-Per-Day.  Folate is okay for someone with the MTHFR mutation; folic acid is not recommended.
